Alex is a dedicated community leader and advocate for educational excellence. His journey began as a student in the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District, where he launched his lifelong educational career. A proud alumnus of Righetti High School, Alex returned to his alma mater to serve as a history teacher before transitioning into school administration. He brings a deep commitment to our students and a wealth of governance experience to foster inclusive, high-achieving environments. He is happily married to his soulmate, Janet, and is the proud father of four children. As a local parent, Alex understands the unique challenges our district faces. Focused on transparency and student-centered policies, he aims to ensure every child has the resources to succeed. Alex is a Mariachi enthusiast who previously served 10 years on the Santa Barbara Mariachi Festival board as well as being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Guadalupe.
